Webcam Chat Terms and Abbreviations

New webcam models will see a lot of short phrases in chat. This glossary explains the common terms in simple language so you can understand customers, room tools, and payout setup with less confusion.

You do not need to memorize every term before applying. Use this page as a quick reference while learning the platform.

Common Chat Terms

BRB
Be right back. Used when someone steps away briefly.
C2C
Cam to cam. A private chat feature where a customer may share their camera.
EXC
Exclusive chat. A one-on-one private session with more focused attention.
HRU
How are you? A common greeting in chat rooms.
NTMU
Nice to meet you. Often used by friendly customers or new viewers.
PLS
Please. A shorthand request in chat.
PVT
Private show or private chat. A paid session outside the public room.

Model Room and Session Terms

Block session
A prepaid session for a set amount of time, often 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes.
Stage name
Your public model name. It should be separate from your legal name and personal accounts.
Private chat
A paid chat where one customer receives more direct attention.
Exclusive chat
A private session where the customer usually has exclusive access while the session is active.
Mute, block, or ban
Safety tools models can use to remove disruptive or disrespectful users.

Payment and Setup Terms

Direct Deposit
A payment method for US residents that sends weekly payouts to a bank account.
Veem
An international wire option used for models outside the United States where available.
W9
A US tax form that US residents generally need to complete as required by law.
Verification
The process used to confirm identity and eligibility before model approval.
